VISN 4 Support Programs

VA Healthcare – VISN 4 is dedicated to serving Veterans through a wide variety of specialized programs.  Would you like to stop smoking or lose weight to become healthier? Are you interested in accessing your health information from anywhere the Internet is available? Do you know an incarcerated or justice-involved Veteran who could use VA’s help? These are just a few examples of the many support programs VISN 4 facilities offer.

Quit for Life | HCRV | Justice Outreach | My HealtheVet | MOVE!

Quit for Life
If you smoke or chew tobacco, call 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE (1-866-784-8454) to get FREE, expert advice on quitting as well as referral information on medications (Nicotine patches, gum and more) available to you through the VA Pharmacy to assist with your efforts. (There may be a co-pay associated with some of these medications depending on eligibility regulations.)

Visit or contact your clinic for a referral to the Quit for Life Program or enroll yourself by calling 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE (1-866-784-8454).

Health Care for Reentry Veterans (HCRV)
This program is designed to address the community reentry needs of incarcerated Veterans. HCRV's goals are to prevent homelessness; reduce the impact of medical, psychiatric and substance abuse programs upon community re-adjustment; and decrease the likelihood of re-incarceration for those leaving prison.

Veterans Justice Outreach
Each medical center in VISN 4 has a staff member dedicated to working with justice-involved Veterans, even if the local court system has not yet established an official Veterans Court. These specialists are here to help.

My HealtheVet
Using My HealtheVet helps you gain a better understanding of your health status, and allows you to explore a variety of ways to monitor and improve your health. When you use the tools My HealtheVet provides, you become an active partner with your caregivers in understanding and managing your personal health care. And the best part is, you can easily access your personal health information in your My HealtheVet account from any place you have an Internet connection.

In-Person Authentication is a process in which a qualified VA staff member verifies a Veteran’s identity and willingness to have their information included in their My HealtheVet account. Authentication unlocks prescriptions names and history and will be necessary for future releases such as reviewing test results. Visit your local facility for more information.
