11th Annual Hometown Heroes Bowling Tournament
On February 24, 2013, 160 individuals gathered to not only enjoy a great afternoon of bowling fun, but also to take part in the opportunity to raise funds to support the activities/needs of the Erie VA Medical Center’s Women Veterans Program! Members of UE Local 506 Sports Committee joined forces and planned the events of the day for the Erie VA Medical Center. UE Local 506 Sports Committee worked with the Eastway Bowling Lanes in Erie, PA to make arrangements for the event.
A total of $10,564.28 was received from community organization and Veteran service organization sponsors. The day of the event (50/50 drawings, auction tables, and print raffle) brought in an additional $3,221.00 making the proceeds from the event a grand total of $13,785.28!! The women Veterans at the Erie VA Medical Center will benefit greatly from this community event coordinated by UE Local 506 Sports Committee.
