Central PA Homeless Resources

VISN 4 Logo
The Central Pennsylvania Homeless Resource Guide was developed in an effort to identify service providers for the homeless and is part of Project CHALENG (Community Homelessness Assessment, Local Education and Networking Groups) for Veterans. Project CHALENG is an innovative program designed to enhance the continuum of care for homeless veterans between the VA and other available community services. The guiding principal behind Project CHALENG is that no single agency can provide the full spectrum of services required to help homeless veterans move from homelessness to being productive members of society. Project CHALENG enhances coordinated services by bringing the VA together with community agencies who provide services to the homeless to raise awareness of homeless veterans’ needs and to plan to meet those needs. This process helps eliminate duplicated services and improves homeless veterans’ access to both the VA and other community agencies.

The Department of Veterans Affairs will continue to identify services for homeless veterans. If you are aware of services not included, please contact the Homeless Coordinator at (814) 943-8164, extension 7640.
