Site Visit - Altoona VA Medical Center

The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania, recently celebrated the relocation and expansion of their State College Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Veterans began receiving treatment there on March 3. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on April 17. The new clinic, which is near Nittany Mall, is almost triple the size of the previous clinic.

CBOCs provide the most common outpatient services, including health and wellness visits, without the hassle of visiting a larger medical center. By expanding the number and type of services available in these clinics, VA is making health care more accessible and more convenient for Veterans who live in rural areas.
