On July 10, in his first week on the job, Dr. David J. Shulkin, M.D., VA's Under Secretary for Health, visited the Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia. During his visit, Dr. Shulkin met with several patients and employees, including VISN 4's chief medical officer, and toured the medical center.

VA Secretary Robert "Bob" McDonald made his first visit to VA Pittsburgh July 20-21 that included a meeting at the University of Pittsburgh, a press conference, an employee town hall and awards presentation, a speech at the national VFW convention and meeting summer youth volunteers.
