Site Visit - VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System

VISN 4 Network Director Michael Adelman, MD, visited VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System on March 18, 2016. During his visit, Dr. Adelman discussed the level of involvement that all supervisors should have in the day-to-day tasks of their employees in order to establish a culture of trust.

He learned about VA Pittsburgh's environmental management tracking system, nursing best practices for medication administration, what is available in patient rooms, and partnerships to strengthen the dental program.

These network director site visits have proven to be a valuable tool to increase communication, transparency and employee engagement between leadership and the front lines of patient care.
